Insulin Syringes 1 ml

An insulin syringe is a 1 ml syringe whose scale is graduated in units rather than millilitres: a hundred marks across the barrel, so one mark equals 0.01 ml. That is why it is the tool of choice for drawing reconstituted solution in the lab — on an ordinary 2 ml syringe the smallest mark is 0.1 ml, and there is nothing to measure a tenth of that with. The U-100 designation refers to the graduation, not the needle gauge: on a U-40 syringe the same barrel length is divided into forty parts, so identical numbers on the two scales mean different volumes and cannot be carried across. The 30G (0.30 mm) needle is bonded into the barrel, so dead space at the hub is all but absent and no solution is left behind.
